Adult Christian Education

The Very Rev.: Sara Potter

Part of the mission of St. Alban's is to be a community  "devoted to God through prayer, study and action." The Adult Christian Education ministry provides opportunities to grow in our faith and understanding of God's presence in our lives.

Bible Study

Currently, the St. Alban's Bible Study group is viewing and discussing a series of lectures by Professor Craig R. Koester entitled “Reading Biblical Literature.” The study is divided into six segments, varying between three and seven weeks each, with a break between sections. Though each lecture offers a lot, attending all of the lessons is not a requirement. You may attend as few or as many as you choose.

We meet via Zoom on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Each lecture is approximately 30 minutes long. Following the lecture, we shall reserve 30 minutes for discussing some questions our participants will have in advance. The discussions have proven to be one of the highlights of our Bible study sessions, and we all learn from one another.

None of this requires any advanced knowledge. None of us are experts. All of us, however, will learn and perhaps gain new perspectives on the Bible.

Anyone is welcome to join us. To obtain information for receiving the Zoom link, please contact the St. Alban’s office.
